Amazon Product Consolidation in AfterShip Feed (Beta)
Overview
Amazon products have a unique structure that is different from platforms like TikTok Shop and SHEIN. To improve product presentation and increase conversion rates, AfterShip Feed now consolidates Amazon products into a structured hierarchy:
Parent ASIN > Child ASIN > Seller SKU
This change ensures that Amazon merchants present products consistently across platforms, avoid duplicate listings, and maintain accurate product data when syncing to TikTok or SHEIN.
Who can use this feature?
- Beta users: Currently available to Amazon merchants in the Beta program.
- Planned rollout: Support for all Amazon-connected merchants in October.
- TikTok Shop countries: United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Mexico, Japan.
Demo
How Amazon’s Product Structure Works
- Parent ASIN
- Contains general product details such as title, images, description, and A+ content.
- Child ASIN
- Represents specific product variations (e.g., size, color).
- Each Child ASIN contains its own images, options, and description.
- Seller SKU
- Linked to a Child ASIN.
- Defines the fulfillment method (FBA or FBM) and condition (New or Used).
Parent ASIN | Child ASIN | Delivery method | Condition | Amazon s\Seller SKU ID |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_RED | FBA | NEW | aaa |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_RED | FBM | NEW | bbb |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_RED | FBA | USED | ccc |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_RED | FBA | USED | iii |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_RED | FBM | USED | ddd |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_BLUE | FBA | NEW | eee |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_BLUE | FBM | NEW | fff |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_BLUE | FBA | USED | ggg |
ASIN_XYZ | ASIN_XYZ_BLUE | FBM | USED | hhh |
Important notes:
- A Child ASIN must be linked to a Parent ASIN for the product to be grouped on Amazon’s product page.
- Amazon allows multiple SKUs under the same Child ASIN, but TikTok and SHEIN only allow one SKU per variation.
How AfterShip Feed consolidates Amazon Products
Product center
- New Users: Only see the consolidated Amazon product view.
- Existing Users: See both the new consolidated view and the original SKU-level view.
- In the Product Center, each product represents a Parent ASIN along with its Child ASINs and Seller SKUs. Hovering over the “Variants” section shows all related SKUs.
Child ASIN mapping to TikTok and SHEIN product options
Child ASINs are mapped to product options on platforms like TikTok and SHEIN. While Amazon supports multiple SKUs under the same child ASIN, platforms such as TikTok, SHEIN, and Shopify do not allow duplicate SKUs within a single listing.
Sellers can map products to listings by clicking Map products
However, when mapping products to listings, the feed must apply specific filtering rules to exclude duplicate SKUs. These rules ensure SKU uniqueness while preserving the accuracy and integrity of the seller’s product catalog.
You can view these rules in the AfterShip Feed Settings > Channel settings > Product sync
Listings view
- In the Listings > Detailed page, users can hover over the Amazon SKU ID (which is linked to the associated TTS SKU) to view the fulfillment method and condition of the Amazon Seller SKU.
- To manually update the SKU link, users can go to: Customize variants > Update SKU link > Save and sync
This allows them to select a different Amazon Seller SKU under the same Child ASIN.
Default SKU Selection Rules
When multiple Seller SKUs exist under the same Child ASIN, AfterShip Feed filters them according to these priorities:
When a seller has multiple seller SKUs under the same Child ASIN, the system applies the following priority rules:
- FBA over FBM: If both FBA and FBM SKUs exist, the FBA SKU is prioritized.
- New over Used: If both New and Used condition SKUs exist, the New SKU is prioritized.
These rules apply in the following scenarios:
- New product publishing: Duplicate seller SKUs are filtered based on the above priority rules when publishing new products.
- Variant auto-updates: When seller SKUs or Child ASINs are added or removed on Amazon, the link between the TikTok SKU and the Amazon seller SKU is automatically updated based on these rules.
For example: If one Child ASIN contains both:
• FBA, New SKU
• FBM, Used SKU
AfterShip Feed will select the FBA, New SKU.
Customizing SKU selection rules
If a merchant is not satisfied with the default SKU mapping priority rules, they can contact support to request a backend configuration.
For Eexample:
If a seller wants to sync only FBA products to TikTok Shop (and exclude FBM products), support can update their configuration to remove FBM from the SKU mapping priority rules.
- Advantage: This ensures sellers don’t need to fulfill FBM orders separately on TikTok, since FBM orders cannot be synced back to Amazon and cannot be fulfilled using MCF (Multi-Channel Fulfillment).
- Disadvantage: If some Child ASINs only have FBM SKUs, those products will not be synced to TikTok Shop, resulting in an incomplete catalog sync.
Troubleshooting
- My Amazon product is not showing in AfterShip Feed.
- Confirm that the Child ASIN is linked to a Parent ASIN in Amazon Seller Central.
- Check if your SKU selection rules exclude FBM SKUs. If only FBM SKUs exist, the product may be filtered out.
- My TikTok listing has fewer variants than my Amazon listing.
- This happens because TikTok and SHEIN do not allow duplicate SKUs for a single option.
- AfterShip Feed automatically filters duplicates based on the selection rules.
- TikTok orders are not syncing back to Amazon.
- Orders linked to an FBM SKU will not sync back to Amazon. To resolve this, remap the listing to an FBA SKU.
- The wrong SKU was linked by default.
You can rectify the SKU linking by
- Navigating to Listings > Detailed Page > Customize variants > Update SKU link > Save and Sync.
- Manually selecting the correct SKU.
- Can I exclude Used products completely?
- By default, New is prioritized over Used.
- If you want to exclude Used SKUs entirely, contact Support to update your configuration.
