Key details

After the initial installation of AfterShip Feed, product and product category synchronization from the platform to Feed will begin. This process usually takes around an hour, depending on the quantity of products. Synced products can be viewed on the Products page.
Both Active and Inactive products from your eCommerce platform will be synced to AfterShip Feed’s Products dashboard, labelled as Active and Inactive, respectively.
Deactivating a product on your eCommerce platform will automatically deactivate it on the SHEIN site. Additionally, SHEIN products can only be linked to active eCommerce products.
If you have many products on your e-commerce platform and can't find them in the Product center, or if you've made changes to your products but the updates aren't reflected in the Product center, simply click Refresh in the upper right corner to sync the latest information.

What does ‘Active’ status in AfterShip Feed mean?

a. For Shopify merchants:

A product is marked as Active in the AfterShip Feed only when both of the following conditions are true:

The Sales channel includes AfterShip Feed for SHEIN.
The Shopify product status is set to Active.

If either of these conditions is not met, the product will appear as Inactive in the AfterShip Feed’s Products section.

b. For merchants on other platforms:

A product is marked as Active in the AfterShip Feed when the {e-commerce platform} product status is set to Active. Otherwise, it will be listed as Inactive in the Product section.

Map products to SHEIN sales channel and category

You can either rely on the system to automatically recommend a product category by creating category templates or manually select the appropriate category for your product.

1. Manual mapping

To manually map products to SHEIN sales channels and product categories, follow the steps below.

On the products dashboard, click Map products.
Select the SHEIN sales channels where you want to map and publish the products.
Select how you want to map the products to SHEIN’s product category. There are two options supported. Select Manual mapping.
Once you select Manual mapping, all the product categories from your selected SHEIN sales channels will be listed below. Search or select the category you want to map your eCommerce products with, and click Map
A task progress module will appear at the bottom of the page, displaying the progress of the products being mapped.
A green banner will appear at the top of the page confirming the successful completion of mapping once the product is mapped to your SHEIN site(s) category.

Products already mapped will be skipped unless you are mapping them to a different sales channel.

Once mapped, you can see the SHEIN sales channel under the Sales channel column on the Products dashboard.

2. SHEIN auto-recommendation

This means that AfterShip Feed uses SHEIN's auto-recommendation API to automatically map products to the appropriate sales channel and product category on SHEIN.

You can view the subsequent SHEIN sales channel it is mapped with under the Sales channel column on the Products dashboard.

You can also view the SHEIN category the product is mapped with under the SHEIN category column of the Listings dashboard.

In case SHEIN's auto-recommendation API could not find any relevant product category to map the product with, you will have to do it manually on the Listings dashboard.

Post product mapping actions

For either of the mapping types, the products being mapped from your eCommerce store to the SHEIN sale channel appear under the Pending status on the Listings dashboard.

The products labelled as Info complete indicate that they need certain required information edits before they can be published to your SHEIN sales channel.

Once the mapped products are appropriately updated with the required information, they can be published to your SHEIN sales channel.

Additional actions

Search products: You can search for products to map to your SHEIN store by adding a product or SKU in the search bar.
Filter imported products for mapping: You can filter products imported from your eCommerce platform for mapping by eCommerce product category, eCommerce store product status, and sales channel to which products have already been mapped.

The Sales Channel filter is available only if you’ve connected multiple country-specific SHEIN sales channels to AfterShip Feed and mapped products to them, or if you’re using SHEIN Shop as a sales channel with products already mapped.

Bulk-map products: Select multiple products and map them to the SHEIN sales channel and product categories at once. All the selected products will be mapped to the same category. This is particularly helpful when you want to map a particular category of products from your eCommerce platform to a specific product category on SHEIN.

Key takeaways

Automatic sync: Product and category data syncs from your eCommerce platform to AfterShip Feed within 1 hour post-installation.
Active vs. inactive products: Only active products are auto-mapped to SHEIN. Inactive products can be mapped manually but won’t sync inventory.
Product deactivation: Deactivating a product in your eCommerce store will also deactivate it on SHEIN. Only active products can be linked to SHEIN.
Status criteria: Products are marked "Active" or "Inactive" in AfterShip Feed based on your eCommerce platform's product status. (e.g., Shopify requires both "Active" status and Feed as a sales channel).
Mapping methods: Users can either manually map products to SHEIN sales channels and categories or leverage SHEIN’s API to auto-maps products to suitable categories, with manual fallback if no match is found.
Post-mapping workflow: Mapped products appear as "Pending" in the Listings dashboard and must have complete info before they can published to SHEIN.
Efficiency tools: Use search, filters, and bulk-mapping to speed up the mapping process for large product catalogs.
