Changes to AfterShip Feed Fulfillment Sync with Shopify API Upgrade
Effective June 12, 2025, AfterShip Feed will be upgrading to Shopify API version 2024-10.
This change introduces a limitation that affects how fulfillment data syncs from TikTok Shop to Shopify under certain conditions.
Why the change?
Shopify is requiring all apps to upgrade to API version 2024-10 by June 12, 2025. This new version introduces a limitation that impacts how fulfillment data is handled:
Order Management apps like AfterShip Feed will no longer be able to fulfill orders in Shopify if they are assigned to a third-party fulfillment service.
What’s changing in AfterShip Feed?
AfterShip Feed supports two-way fulfillment synchronization between Shopify and TikTok Shop. With the introduction of the new API, the change will specifically impact the TikTok → Shopify sync direction in certain scenarios:
1. Orders that will sync as expected
- TikTok Shipping orders and FBT (Fulfilled by TikTok) orders: When TikTok provides tracking numbers and carrier names, AfterShip Feed will continue to sync this data back to Shopify and mark the order as fulfilled, as long as the order is not assigned to a third-party fulfillment service.
- Seller Shipping orders: If you manually upload tracking information in the TikTok Seller Center, AfterShip Feed will still sync it to Shopify and mark the order as fulfilled — again, only if no third-party fulfillment service is assigned.

2. Orders that will not sync
Starting June 12, 2025, the following limitations apply:
- If the order item’s location is assigned to a third-party fulfillment service, AfterShip Feed will not be able to sync the fulfillment to Shopify.
- As a result, the Shopify order status will remain “Unfulfilled”, even though the TikTok Shop order is already fulfilled.
If the item’s location is not linked to a third-party service, fulfillment syncing will continue as usual.
What should you do?
This change does not affect the actual TikTok fulfillment process, it only causes a status mismatch between TikTok and Shopify in certain conditions.
To better manage this update:
- Tag your TikTok Shipping and FBT orders: Go to Settings → Order sync and apply tags to track these orders more easily in Shopify.
- Monitor sync errors: Check Order Center → Fulfillment sync failed to catch any orders where the sync was blocked due to the API limitation.
